About Us
Caper Academy is a small independent game studio. We aim to make great games that wouldn’t have existed if we didn’t put our heads down and make them ourselves. Our first game, Voyage of the Starship Lexicon, is space voyage word game for mobile devices.
Caper Academy is Hart Shafer and Victor Thompson (plus friends and fools we can rope in on our projects.)
Hart is new making games but has been an avid player since his dad introduced him to the joys of electronic entertainment on a Poly88. Before Caper Academy he spent his career product management at software companies Syntrillium, Adobe, and iZotope, mostly making audio tools like Cool Edit, Audition, and Nectar. Previous gaming obsessions include Metroid, Civ, Counterstrike, X-Com (the original, although Enemy Unknown was pretty satisfying). Hart lives and works in Phoenix, AZ and can be reached on Twitter @j3hs or email hart[at]caperacademy[dot]com.
Victor has been developing games professionally for twelve years. After programming for half a dozen games for Monster Games and Sucker Punch Productions, he decided to stop working for other people and start a game company. Victor has recently worked with designers, artists, and riggers to create engaging and meaningful gameplay. Victor enjoys rogue-like games, crossword puzzles, and fine beers. He lives and works in Minneapolis, MN and can be reached on Twitter @i2 or by email at victor[at]caperacademy[dot]com.
